We’re Historic Triangle Dems!

We fundraise, campaign and get out the vote. We host speakers and candidate forums, write postcards, make phone calls and connect with our neighbors. And in the process of electing Dems and making government more responsive and more representative, we have a lot of fun.

  • Get reading! Our May Book Club potluck and discussion will be Monday, May 18 at 6 pm at Historic Triangle Dems HQ, 113-K Palace Ln, Williamsburg. April Greener, our vice chair for membership and an inveterate reader, will organize discussions as we share a potluck supper. Read a book, bring a dish, and enjoy the fellowship. Our book for May is Who is Government? The Untold Story of Public Service edited by Michael Lewis.
    Lewis invited his favorite writers to find someone doing an interesting job for the government and write about them in a special in-depth series for the Washington Post. Essays by Michael Lewis, Casey Cep, Dave Eggers, John Lanchester, Geraldine Brooks, Sarah Vowell, and W. Kamau Bell. Winner of the 2025 Goldsmith Prize for Explanatory Reporting.
  • Dinner and Legislative Update with Dels. Mark Downey and Virgil Thornton Sr. at 6 pm on Thursday, May 21 at County Grill, Kiln Creek Shopping Center, 1215 Geo. Washington Mem. Hwy., Yorktown. We will “go Dutch” and each pay our own way as we hear from Mark and Virgil about this year’s legislative session. RSVP here.
