DESCRIPTION:Our voting rights are under attack\, and we won’t go back! \nJoin us as we commemorate the 104th anniversary of the 19th Amendment\, which granted women the right to vote in the United States on August 18\, 1920. While this was a significant milestone\, it would take another 45 years for the Civil Rights Act to dismantle state laws that hindered Black Americans from voting. We gather to celebrate this historic achievement and to recognize the ongoing efforts to ensure that every American has the right to vote. \nThe event will begin at 4:00 pm on the Palace Green in Colonial Williamsburg (200 Palace Green Street). From there\, we will march down Duke of Gloucester Street to the Capitol\, where local leaders will share inspirational messages.
