Voting absentee is the safest way to protect yourself and others during the pandemic. Here are the details.
- The November election will be Tuesday, Nov. 3.
- ALL voters can vote absentee — an excuse is no longer required as of July 1. We strongly encourage you to stay safe and vote absentee. Click here for more information and to request a ballot online.
- You can request an absentee ballot right now. Ballots will be mailed to you beginning 45 days before the election. The deadline to order an absentee ballot to be mailed to you is Oct. 23 at 5 pm.
- Saturday, Oct. 31 is the last day to vote an absentee ballot in person. (NOTE: Please be considerate and if at all possible, vote by mail. It’s the best way to keep us all safe.)
To apply for an absentee ballot, go to the Virginia Department of Elections website. You can fill out the application, then print and mail it, or, if you have a Virginia driver’s license, you can submit your application online.
